Good morning Speedwell family,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed the beautiful weather God provided!

I know many of you were away for the weekend so I wanted to encourage you to listen to Sunday's message. I shared how we are starting a new chapter at Speedwell. Peter talks about how we are like living stones, and are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood from 1 Peter 2. God continues to build His church, which means each of us play a part in becoming this holy priesthood Peter talks about.

I had shared how we were going to be talking about handprints in cement. At one time, when a new sidewalk was poured people would put their handprint in the wet cement which eventually would become permanent. That handprint would be unique to only the person who had pressed their hands into the cement. The idea is how we each will leave a unique handprint on the church because of how we have been created and how God has equipped us and called us to service.

Since we didn't have wet cement to place our hands in, we have a tree that you can use ink to put your thumbprint on to represent your uniqueness and the part you play in the church in reaching the world for Jesus Christ. Our desire should be to see the church continue to grow into a holy priesthood.

This coming Sunday I will have the tree available again so you can place your thumbprint to signify your commitment to serving God according to how He has called you and gifted you in this new journey we are on together.
